Pavel „Paša“ Talankin je nadšený a oblíbený učitel na ruské základní škole. Má rád maloměstský život, nevstřícné počasí, a dokonce i špinavé paneláky. Jeho každodennost naruší válka, jíž se jako zaměstnanec výchovné instituce musí stát nástrojem.

Ocitá se uprostřed propagandistického aparátu, který pohlcuje celou společnost. Sám má mimo jiné za úkol vše s kamerou v ruce dokumentovat. Tento pokyn si však vyloží po svém a zaznamenává události tak, jak se skutečně dějí, nikoliv tak, jak by si je vojenský režim přál zobrazovat.

Snímek vznikl na základě materiálu, který Paša vynesl z Ruska, když pochopil, že začíná budit příliš pozornosti a že se kolem něj stahuje smyčka. Režijně ho zaštítil dánský dokumentarista David Borenstein. Vznikl tichý, intimní, a právě proto zdrcující obraz pokřivenosti vzdělávacího systému, potažmo celé země.

Pavel "Pasha" Talankin is an enthusiastic and popular teacher at a Russian elementary school. He likes small-town life, the inclement weather, and even dirty apartment buildings. His everyday life is disrupted by the war, of which he, as an employee of an educational institution, must become an instrument.

He finds himself in the middle of a propaganda apparatus that is engulfing the entire society. Among other things, he is tasked with documenting everything with a camera in his hand. However, he interprets this instruction in his own way and records events as they really happen, not as the military regime would like them to be portrayed.

The film was created based on material that Pasha brought back from Russia when he realized that he was starting to attract too much attention and that a noose was tightening around him. The Danish documentarian David Borenstein supervised the directorship. The result is a quiet, intimate, and for that very reason devastating picture of the crookedness of the educational system, and by extension, the entire country.
